Initial post
My course has provided valuable perspectives on various culturally sensitive topics, such as diversity, social justice, cultural awareness, and effective communication strategies. These will help me grasp knowledge in a better way in both my personal and professional life in the future.
I will use the skills I obtained for good communication in my personal life to deal with conflicts and build successful relationships with others. I have learned the importance of active listening, empathy, and respectful communication in conflict resolution and establishing understanding.
Going ahead with my educational progression at SNHU, I will apply these cultural awareness and social justice principles to comprehend multiple perspectives and treat each subject with sensitivity and concern. Besides, my communication abilities will be instrumental in positively interacting with my classmates and instructors. This aspect ranges from asking for clarifications on the tasks set to upholding a healthy debate on varying opinions.
The feedback I receive from my peers or instructors will be adopted with an open mind and willingness to learn and grow. Feedback is helpful for development, so I will use it positively to adjust my work and improve my learning. Besides building a sense of community among my peers online, I will proactively join in discussions, give encouraging feedback, and do some group work. I became an active member of the group. I participated in meetings, the basis for a welcoming and accepting learning environment where everyone is listened to and taken seriously.
Communication is essential to resolving conflicts because it enables individuals to express their views, listen to others, and arrive at a solution that considers the common ground. Conflicts can be approached to a positive outcome through efficient communication means such as actively listening, clearly articulating thoughts and feelings, and having mutually respectful discussions.
SNHU is equipped with resources contributing to student success, such as the Shapiro Library for all research assistance, academic counselors for guidance and support, and instructors for clarification and educational support. Seeking help when needed is one of the pillars of obtaining positive academic outcomes since it signifies a tendency for learning, self-development, and dealing with challenges. These tools will enable me to grow as a learner and succeed in this education. Happily, I will keep using them and look for help when needed. This will make me an SNHU student, and I will be able to achieve success.
Peer feedback
Your remarks on feedback and building community in your educational journey have been of great value to me. I totally agree with the fact that feedback, both positive and negative, is critical in a person’s growth and self-realization.
One important advice I can adopt into my plans, as postulated in your post, is the essence of being more active during conversations and seeking support from peers in tough times. Community, communication, and listening can give learners a better experience and even allow them to get new insights from diverse perspectives.
When discussing SNHU resources, you may find an academic counselor to speak to resolve conflicts, enhance communication, and learn all about peer support. Academic advice can be individually tailored by academic counselors to help you achieve high academic success and maximize your college life at SNHU. Also, using your instructors as a resource for feedback and clarification on assignments when dealing with complex subjects is good.
