Share your perspective on a social issue in Healthcare

You will share your perspective on a social issue in healthcare and its portrayal in the media. You will learn over the course of this class that media can greatly influence our perceptions of facts as they pertain to a social issue, regardless of whether we have experienced the social issue personally.

For this discussion, you will select a television show, movie, book, social media thread, or video game that deals with a social issue (Healthcare). You will then address the discussion prompts.

• Share with your peers a television show, (The resident on Hulu) movie, book, social media thread, or video game that relates to a social issue.
• Describe how the television show, portrays the social issue.  Please see I have provided examples about my chosen social issue of healthcare in the television show I am binge watching. Please use this information for my discussion post.

There are many issues with healthcare the show the resident touches on so many of them for example

1) an episode a young student with no healthcare stole his twin brother’s insurance card because he was sick.

2) an episode: A homeless mentally ill patient was illegally dumped at cha

stain memorial because they assumed she was poor and had no insurance. She ended up being from a wealth family and contracted a virous that mimicked signs of mental illness.

3) Another issue addressed greed, corruption, and conflict of interest. This episode discussed how a medical device company solicited the help of Chastain memorial to push the faulty medical devices on their patients.
