Nurse informaticists engage in daily interactions with other healthcare professionals to ensure the seamless and efficient collection and dissemination of information related to clinical decisions, patient health records, and organizational operations. They play a significant role in maintaining consistency in the delivery of safe, high-quality care (Ball, 2005). Knowledge management systems, which integrate knowledge needs, knowledge bases, and decision support systems, are instrumental in guiding decision-making (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2017). Nurse informaticists contribute to effective knowledge management and sharing within interdisciplinary teams by designing informatics tools and systems that facilitate the creation and sharing of new knowledge (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2017). To enhance the accuracy of adverse event detection, comprehensive programmed algorithms that consider information from all clinical data sources need to be designed (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2017).
