Social theories relevant to healthcare issues

Directions

For this journal, you will identify different social science disciplines and discuss the connections to the social issue. You will further discuss the ethical perspectives in relation to your position on the issue.

Some of these suggestions will be requirements for the project, so you may wish to review the Project Guidelines and Rubric to get ahead on your work for the project. For the project, you’ll need at least four sources from the Shapiro Library that represent diverse perspectives. For whatever sources you use to prepare for this journal, follow APA citation guidelines when citing sources both throughout and at the end of your journal.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

Theory

Explain the ways that different social science disciplines are relevant to your social issue. To accomplish this, consider doing the following:

1. Define each social science.
2. Explain why the perspective of each social science aids in understanding the issue.
3. Explain how the approach of each social science guides how the social issue may be addressed.

2. Explain why a particular social theory is relevant to your social issue. (Use one of the four theories presented in earlier modules.) To accomplish this, consider doing the following:
   1. Describe a social science theory that explains how the issue developed.
   2. Explain why this social science theory is relevant to the issue.

Ethical Conclusions

1. Discuss ethical perspectives in relation to the issue. To accomplish this, consider doing the following:
   1. Describe what ethical perspectives should be considered to research the issue.
   2. Explain the ethical basis for various positions on the issue.

For this journal assignment in Module Five, you will focus on the theory and ethical conclusions sections of your article.
