The intense joint pain limits mobility and can even lead to other problems like headaches. It also leads to increased healthcare costs, especially for older individuals who require frequent medical attention due to the pain. When left unchecked, gout can worsen other health conditions.
Gout affects different demographic groups differently. It’s more common in men at a younger age, but this gender difference becomes less pronounced as people get older.
